Privacy policy

Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not intentionally sent to CalcStride’s servers.

Information the site may collect

Our hosting and security providers may process standard request data such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested URL, time, and error information. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to include.

Analytics and logging

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic and coarse interactions such as whether a calculator was started, completed, or opened in advanced mode. Calculator inputs, results, filing choices, locations, and free text are never included in analytics events. How this works depends on where you are. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage default to denied: no cookies are set and no advertising identifiers are used unless you accept. Elsewhere, analytics and advertising storage are both on by default, and you can turn them off at any time using “Privacy choices” in the footer — that control covers Google’s advertising signals as well as analytics. Where consent is required we show a prompt before any cookie is set, and record your answer. Today that prompt is CalcStride’s own dialog, reachable at any time from “Privacy choices” in the footer. Once advertising is switched on it is replaced by Google’s certified consent message, part of Google’s Privacy & messaging service, which resolves your region server-side and records your answer for advertising partners as well. We also use Google Consent Mode. Before you have answered, a page view may still be counted without any cookie and without any identifier that could recognise you across visits or sites. If you decline, that stops: we send nothing further, and analytics cookies already in your browser are deleted.

Our hosting provider may also create operational request and error logs needed to deliver and secure the site. We do not intentionally add calculator values to those logs.

Advertising

CalcStride is supported by advertising and has applied to Google AdSense. Ad units, and the Google-operated consent message described below, begin serving once the site is approved and advertising is switched on. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Where consent is required, the controls described above are shown first and no advertising cookie is set until you answer. You can also review how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Retention and sharing

Operational records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, reliability, legal, and business purposes. We may share data with infrastructure, analytics, and advertising providers acting for the site, or when required by law. We do not sell the values you enter into calculators.

Your choices

You can decline when first asked, or open “Privacy choices” in the footer at any time to change or withdraw your selection — including turning analytics off in regions where it is on by default. Declining also clears the analytics cookies already set in your browser. You can also limit cookies through browser settings. Because calculator inputs remain in the browser, refreshing or closing the page normally clears the current form state.

U.S. state privacy rights

Several U.S. states — California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and others — give residents rights over personal information, and treat disclosing it to an advertising partner for interest-based advertising as a sale or sharing even when no money changes hands. CalcStride shows advertising, so that description applies to the advertising identifiers and cookie data described above. It does not apply to the figures you type into a calculator: those stay in your browser, are never transmitted, and are never sold, shared or disclosed to anyone.

Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to request deletion or correction, to receive a copy, to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising, and not to be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.

To opt out of the sale or sharing of your information for advertising on this site, use “Privacy choices” in the footer of any page and turn advertising off; that choice is stored on your device and applies on every later visit. You can also opt out of personalised advertising across sites at Google’s Ads Settings or aboutads.info, and most browsers transmit a Global Privacy Control signal that we honour where state law requires it. To make any other request, or to have an authorised agent make one for you, email support@zwstudiollc.com with the state you live in; we may need to confirm the request came from you before acting on it.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, and therefore do not knowingly sell or share it.
